Account settings bug: email address and ports are not stored

When I try to change my sender email address in the settings of an account, I enter the new address and click “next”. The account is being checked then. When I go again into the settings, the former email address is still there and when I write an email, the old address is being used.

Same goes with IMAP and SMTP ports. I use SSL over port 143 and 25 (TLS). When I change this and go back to the settings, it’s always back to maildroid defaults. Btw, are’nt the ports 993 and 587 deprecated? As far as I know, TLS is almost always going over 143 and 25 these days.

Although it is an editable field, you can not edit that field and you need to remove and re-add the account to change the email address. Regarding port, no, I don’t believe you are right. As far as I know, 993, 465, and 587 are the ports to use over SSL or TLS.

No, port 25 for TLS via STARTTLS command is perfectly fine and correct. And even if not, the server might be configured to use non-standard ports for whatever reasons the administrator might see fit. Maildroid uses these ports perfectly fine, but when re-editing the settings, the ports are reset to the default ports instead of the configured ones. This is a bug (which I already have reported a couple of months ago by the way).

You have to edit the port and then press Next. If validation succeeded, it will be stored. Otherwise it will not be stored.

  Yes, the port is stored if connection is successful.
  The next time one enters the settings screen, the ports are back to the defaults. So just entering the screen, changing nothing and pressing next would change the ports from working non-default to non-working default.

This is still not fixed.

How to reproduce:
– Set up SMTP account with encrypted SMTP on Port 25 (STARTSSL feature)
– Press Next – everything works fine, settings are stored, account can be used for sending email
– Open the edit screen of that account again
– You will see the SMTP Port is set to 587 instead of the previously configured port 25. Just changing nothing and pressing “Next” will result in a connection refused error.
