Hello,

Great email app! There seem to be several bugs and/or improvements I noticed. I use it with a Gmail account.

– Exporting settings to Google Drive is not working currently, this error is shown: 403 disallowed_useragent.

– Saved drafts only appear in the app, they do not show up in the Gmail web client, other email apps save drafts in the general drafts folder which is very convenient since you can continue writing email on computer.

– Not all emails get loaded when looking at emails by label, this is not always the case, but when looking at a label which has thousands of emails and scrolling all the way down, the last shown email in the app is not really the last email with that label, there’s also no “Load older messages” button at the bottom like there’s one for the Inbox view.

– Please allow users to see labels applied to emails and be able to change those labels. Right now we cannot see labels for each email and there’s no way to add additional label to emails, we can only move emails to a different label which acts as a folder instead of a label and removes the email from the Inbox folder/label.

Just replying as an experienced user …

You can set the drafts folder, using Settings-Folders, and make it the same as Gmail’s drafts.

The app can only present labels as folders, because it uses the standard IMAP protocol. Gmail supports IMAP, but to do so it has to make everything look like folders, because that’s the way IMAP sees the email world. Internally IMAP actually calls folders “mailboxes”.

Labels are a construct specific to Gmail, MD would need to use the Gmail API to give you a label-style view, but that’s a completely different ball game!

I tried setting the drafts folder to the default/generic drafts folder then composing a new email, but it still did not save there for some reason, does it work for you?

Thanks for the labels and IMAP explanation, this makes sense now. I guess my enhancement/feature request would be then for the usage of Gmail API for Gmail accounts so that we can use labels properly. Are there any existing email apps that use the Gmail API? I also wonder if IMAP has any plans of updating or if there are any other better protocols coming in the future to replace it, flexible labels make so much more sense than rigid folders.

Figured out the drafts folder, the default drafts folder is not the top level drafts one but the one under [Gmail]/Drafts.
