Settings -> Messages List
I’m set up for two POP3 email accounts, both of which are handled by both my phone and my PC. I never delete from the server when retrieving mail to the phone and then deleting it.
There will be one relevant settings item: “when removed on device delete on server”. I have this setting UNCHECKED. This leaves mail still up on the POP3 server for me when I get mail delivered to the phone and delete it from the phone.
I also have “confirm delete” set to OFF so that when I tap on the trash icon it simply gets deleted from the phone without bothering me for confirmation to delete.
I also have “prompt for delete options” set to OFF, so that when I delete it simply gets deleted from the phone and does not bother me asking if I want to delete from just the phone or also from the POP3 server. I NEVER want to delete from the POP3 server when working with email on the phone (since I want my PC to be able to retrieve these same messages when I get home, which is configured to now delete the messages from the POP3 server when they get downloaded to the PC). I only want to delete from the phone when working with email on the phone, so there’s no need to bother to offer me the option of deleting from the server.
