The beauty of IMAP is that you can store all your emails on the server. Clients then have the possibility to retrieve and store selected IMAP folders locally.
I need the possibility to order all preloaded messages of a folder by date maybe once a month. Storing the messages of all folders locally on the phone (about 2GB) just for this to work is not a feasible option.
The next time I need the feature I will temporarily set the respective folder to ‘offline’ and see whether this is a practical solution. Though I still don’t understand why the feature, which already works nicely for offline messages, can’t be applied to preloaded messages as well.
