Spam – Inbox "negative message count"

There’s obviously a problem caused by use of the paid-for spam plugin which automatically moves suspected spam messages from Inbox (or whatever user folder) into the Spam folder. The issue either comes from (a) the automatic movement of messages, or (b) perhaps when reviewing the contents of the Spam folder and deciding that what got moved was NOT spam and thus moving it back to Inbox (or whatever user folder), or (c) perhaps when reviewing Inbox contents and deciding that a message WAS spam and marking it as spam so that it gets moved to the Spam folder. The idea here is that the spam plugin is supposed to “learn”, which is why we make these incidental corrections.
Anyway, many are the situations where MD loses the correct [unread] message count shown in Inbox and Spam folders. The two of them add up to zero as they should but one could be negative and the other positive. And in fact, there may actually be NO UNREAD MESSAGES in either folder, and the non-zero positive/negative values shown are simply the result of the mistake made by MD when automatically or manually moving to/from Spam folder.
Here’s an example, which in fact has NOTHING AT ALL IN EITHER INBOX OR SPAM FOLDERS, and yet Inbox shows -2 and Spam shows +2. But in fact both folders are completely empty, with no messages at all… not read nor unread.
